Connect your Tesla® vehicles in RentalOS

Connect your Tesla® vehicles in RentalOS

Pocket has launched Tesla Integration for RentalOS—so Tesla hosts can connect their garage, link each vehicle, share time-bound digital guest access on the rental folio, and see live charging status (plus Supercharging attribution on the trip) without juggling a separate key tool.

Connect once in Settings → Connections → Tesla, link cars on each asset, and give guests a clean digital key experience right on your hosted rental page.

Why It Matters

Tesla fleets move fast—and guests expect phone-ready access without hunting for the Tesla app. Operators also need charge visibility and trip costs in one place. With Tesla Integration, RentalOS hosts can now:

  • Connect the garage Tesla account with a simple OAuth flow—Connect Tesla, then Connected.
  • Link each unit on the asset’s Rentals tab under Tesla Integration (even if the Pocket VIN isn’t filled in yet).
  • Share digital guest access on the hosted rental page during the trip window—no separate guest-key portal to manage.
  • See live charge status on the asset Details tab when a Tesla is linked—battery %, charging state, and related stats when Tesla provides them.
  • Track Supercharging on the folio so trip charge costs stay with the rental, not in a side spreadsheet.
  • Surface Tesla columns in the garage—linked vehicle and charge status in your visible columns picker.

How It Works

Connect Tesla
Go to Settings → Connections → Tesla and tap Connect Tesla. Authorize the garage Tesla account. That’s it—no client IDs or developer jargon in the host UI.

Link each vehicle
Open an auto asset → RentalsTesla Integration. Choose the car from your connected Tesla list. Prefer VIN match when both sides have a VIN; the dropdown works even when Pocket doesn’t have a VIN yet.

Guest digital key on the rental
When a rental’s vehicle is Tesla-linked, guests see a digital key card on your custom hosted rental page (/r/…). Access follows the trip window (with short padding before pickup and after return). Hosts can share the digital key link from the rental in plain language.

Charge status & folio costs
Linked Teslas can show live charging status on the asset Details tab. Supercharging and Tesla account charge activity can attribute back to the rental folio so operators see what the trip used.

Integration Features

  • One-click Tesla connection — Settings → Connections → Tesla, Mercury-style Connect → Connected.
  • Tesla Integration on the asset — dedicated card next to Turo Integration; pick the Fleet vehicle from a dropdown.
  • VIN-aware linking — optional Match by VIN when available; dropdown-first so missing VINs don’t block you.
  • Hosted rental digital key card — guest redeem / unlock experience on the folio page during the booking window.
  • Live charge panel — Details tab (Tesla-linked or Tesla VIN/make only)—no noise on non-Teslas.
  • Garage columns — Tesla Vehicle and Tesla Charge Status in VISIBLE COLUMNS.
  • Pocket-owned Fleet API — built into RentalOS, not a white-label of a third-party guest-key product.

The Bigger Picture

Tesla Integration continues Pocket’s mission to run the whole rental operation in one platform—marketplace sync for Turo and RVshare, and now native Tesla connect for digital guest access, charge visibility, and trip cost clarity inside RentalOS.

“Hosts shouldn’t need a separate app stack just because the car is a Tesla,” said the Pocket team. “Connect the account, link the vehicle, and guests get access on the same rental page they already use—while charge status and Supercharging stay with the folio.”
